The TORP TC1000 2.X replaces the stock MX5 controller with a full FOC unit rated at 700 A battery / 1000 A phase, pre-calibrated for the Talaria MX5. TORP quotes roughly 30% more power and torque: 17 kW on the stock battery, 23 kW with an aftermarket 72–80 V pack. The kit ships with the TORP thumb throttle and everything else you need; the bike keeps its stock functions apart from the start button, which the kit replaces.

The map is loaded for the MX5. Fit it, pair the app, ride. Fine-tuning is optional.

17 kW stock, 23 kW with a bigger pack

On the standard battery the MX5 makes 17 kW. Move to an aftermarket 72–80 V pack and the same controller gives 23 kW.

TORP thumb throttle in the box

The MX5 kit includes the TORP thumb throttle — it has its own installation instructions, so follow the TORP guide when you fit it.

Keeps the stock display

Works with the factory Talaria display and leaves the bike’s stock functions in place. The start button is the one part the kit replaces.

Manufacturer figures. The 50 kW belongs to the controller hardware, not to a stock MX5 — what reaches the ground is set by your battery and motor. One more thing worth knowing: TORP states the controller cannot communicate with the stock Talaria battery made by SCUD. All other functions stay intact.

Plug ’n’ play fit

Talaria Sting MX5

This kit is for the MX5 only. The MX5 uses a different wiring harness from the rest of the range, so the MX3 / MX4 / Sting R version will not fit it — and this one will not fit them. For Sur-Ron: TC1000 2.X for Light Bee, TC1000 2.X for Ultra Bee, TC500 2.X for Light Bee.

Questions riders actually ask

How much power will I actually get?

17 kW on the stock MX5 battery — roughly 30% more power and torque than standard. With an aftermarket 72–80 V pack: 23 kW. The 50 kW on the spec sheet is what the controller hardware can pass, not what a stock MX5 will make.

Will my stock battery work?

TORP states the controller cannot communicate with the stock Talaria battery made by SCUD — all other functions stay intact. For 23 kW you need an aftermarket 72–80 V pack.

Is the thumb throttle really included?

Yes. The MX5 kit ships with the TORP thumb throttle. It needs its own installation procedure, so follow TORP’s instructions for that part.

Does anything on the bike stop working?

No. All stock Talaria functions stay in place; the only part the kit replaces is the start button.

Do I have to program or calibrate anything?

No. The unit ships pre-calibrated for the MX5. Fit it, pair the app, ride.
