A headset that keeps loosening on a Sur-Ron is not the bearings’ fault — it is the stock star nut, which creeps up the steerer tube after hard landings. Preload drops, the front end starts knocking, and you are back with a spanner every other ride. The Stem Lock solves it once: a threaded rod runs the entire length of the steerer tube and clamps the lower triple clamp to the upper one. The preload stays constant because there is nothing left to pull out of the tube.
What you get
Constant bearing preload
A rod through the whole steerer tube instead of a star nut pressed in a few centimetres. There is nothing to creep.
No more knocking front end
The symptom that comes back after every set of hard landings is fixed at the source, not by another re-torque.
Longer bearing life
A bearing running at correct preload wears far slower than one that is loose one week and over-tightened the next.
Less servicing
You stop checking the headset before every ride. That is real time back over a season.
Fits with standard tools
Installed while the stem is off anyway. No drilling, no welding, no frame modification.

The threaded rod runs through the entire steerer tube and pulls both triple clamps together — unlike the stock star nut.

Complete set, ready to fit while the stem is off.

Questions people actually ask
Why does the stock star nut fail?
Because it only holds by interference fit, over a short section of the steerer tube. A hard landing can push it upward — preload drops and the front end starts knocking.
Does it fix worn bearings?
No. If the bearings are already notched they need replacing. The Stem Lock makes sure the new ones do not wear the same way.
Do I need special tools?
No. It goes in while the stem is off, with standard spanners. No drilling and no welding.
Does it work with a direct mount stem?
Yes — it is the natural pairing. A stiffer front end from a direct mount only makes sense if the headset actually holds preload.
How often do I check it afterwards?
Preload stops creeping, so the headset goes back to a normal service interval instead of a check before every ride.
