The stock Sur-Ron rear disc is 1.9 mm thick. Under hard braking and on long descents thin material heats up faster, warps more easily and wears out sooner. This disc is 2.3 mm — over 20% more material at the same 220 mm diameter. It is the simplest way to make the rear brake repeatable and to make the disc last a season instead of a few rides.
What it changes
Stiffer under load
Thicker material flexes less and warps less when hot. The pads work across the whole surface instead of just the high spots.
Longer service life
More material simply means more to wear through. The disc reaches its wear limit noticeably later than the stock one.
More mass to absorb heat
A thicker disc takes on more heat before it starts to fade. On a long descent you feel it as a lever that keeps the same bite point.
No fuss on fitting
Standard 6-bolt mount, same 220 mm diameter. Bolt it on and ride.

Check whether you have a 220 mm caliper adapter
If your bike left the factory with a smaller disc, a 220 mm diameter needs a caliper adapter — without it the caliper will not line up with the disc. The Sur-Ron LBX always needs one. The right adapter is linked below in the set section.
Questions people actually ask
How is this different from your 220 mm floating disc?
They are two different designs. This one is one-piece — a steel rotor, thicker than stock. The floating version has a black aluminium carrier and a separate steel braking ring joined by rivets, so it sheds heat better and copes more freely with thermal expansion. The floating one costs more and makes sense for genuinely intense riding. Link below.
Does a thicker disc mean more drag?
No. Thickness does not add rolling resistance — it adds stiffness and a reserve of material. You notice it exactly when a stock disc would start to fade.
Do stock pads fit?
Yes, same caliper and pad type. If your old pads have a clear wear profile from the previous disc, change them together — they will bed in faster and more evenly.
Do I need an adapter?
For a 220 mm diameter, yes, if your bike came with a smaller disc. The Sur-Ron LBX always needs one. You will find the adapter in the set section below.
