The TM25 replaces the stock Light Bee motor and changes the character of the bike more than any other single part. 13 kW of continuous power means the bike does not give up two minutes into a climb — and that is the difference a peak-power figure never shows you.
The motor is designed for the Sur-Ron Light Bee and works with our TORP controllers: TC1000 and TC500 in hardware version 1.3 or newer. It supports both Hall sensors and an encoder, so it also runs with controllers from other brands.

A warning about older descriptions of this motor — including our own. The figure "25 kW peak" is in circulation. The manufacturer quotes peak power as a function of voltage: 27 kW at 72 V and 31 kW at 80 V. We publish both together with the voltage, because without it the number means nothing. Torque cannot be given as a single figure either — it depends on the current the controller delivers.

Before you order
- This is not the upgrade path for the Ultra Bee. For the Ultra Bee the manufacturer offers the TM50 Speed and TM50 Pro — the TM25 does not fit it.
- Check the hardware version of your TC500. Below 1.3 the motor will not work with it.
- The motor alone is not enough. To use 13 kW continuously you need a controller that delivers the current and a battery that can supply it.
FAQ
Does the TM25 fit the Ultra Bee?
No. The TM25 is a Light Bee motor. For the Ultra Bee the manufacturer offers the TM50 series, which we do not stock.
Which controller do I need?
A TORP TC1000, or a TC500 in hardware version 1.3 or newer. The motor supports Hall and encoder, so it will also run with some controllers from other brands.
Why is peak power quoted twice?
Because it depends on battery voltage: 27 kW at 72 V and 31 kW at 80 V. Quoting a single figure without the voltage misleads the buyer.
Is 13 kW continuous a lot?
It is the most important number on this page. A stock Light Bee has several times less continuous power — which is why the stock motor starts backing off on a long climb and the TM25 does not.
