Direct mount triple clamp and reinforced rear triangle — what they actually change on a Sur-Ron Light Bee

When power goes up on a Light Bee, precision is the first thing to go. The bike gets faster and tells you less — the bar starts living its own life, the rear works wider than you want it to. Nothing is broken. It is simply that every bit of play in the structure grows with the load you put through it.
Two places on a Light Bee show it first: the bar mount and the rear suspension triangle.
Direct mount triple clamp — the bar is bolted, not suspended
The 96 Direct Mount clamp is a CNC-machined yoke made from 7000-series aluminium, with the handlebar clamped directly in the mount — hence direct mount. There is no intermediate part between bar and yoke.
| Spec | Value | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Mounting | direct mount | the bar holds one position, even under hard braking |
| Rise | 55 mm (80 mm with the riser) | a more upright stance — less hunching on the pegs and in wheelies |
| Reach | 40 mm | bar closer or further out, depending on how you turn it |
| Material | 7000-series aluminium, CNC | the alloy class used for load-bearing parts |
| Included | full bolt kit | nothing else to buy for the install |
55 mm of rise and 40 mm of reach are not cosmetic numbers. They are the difference between fighting your riding position and simply riding. You feel it most on the pegs and in slow technical riding — which is where a Light Bee spends most of its life.
If you want to go higher, there is a 25 mm riser with an integrated light mount — it takes the clamp to 80 mm and solves where to put the headlight after you change the front geometry.
The clamp comes in two colours: black and gold bronze.
Reinforced rear triangle — a rear end that does not work sideways
The suspension triangle carries everything the rear wheel does: landing loads, side forces in corners, driveline snatch. Ours is CNC-machined from aluminium and designed with headroom for the loads that come after a power upgrade.
The result: a stiffer rear and less play. The bike holds the line you give it instead of correcting it, and the rear behaves predictably on landings. Direct replacement for the stock part. Available in black and gold bronze.
Why these two together
Because they work on the same thing from both ends of the bike. The clamp alone gives you a precise front on a soft rear. The triangle alone does the opposite. Together you get a machine that reacts to what you do, instead of reacting late.
And there is something you cannot unsee: a matched colour set. Black clamp with a black triangle, or bronze with bronze. The 96 bronze is the colour people recognise from the far side of the paddock.
