The TC500 2.X replaces the stock controller in the Talaria MX3 / MX4 / Sting R. The manufacturer states 350 A battery current and 500 A phase current, an IP67 housing weighing 1 kg, and full tuning from the TORP app over Bluetooth — throttle maps, regenerative braking, limits.
The kit is built for the Talaria MX3 / MX4 / Sting R and does not fit the MX5 — the harnesses differ. The controller runs the stock Talaria motor — TORP builds motors for the Sur-Ron only.
TC500 or TC1000
| What you want | What you take | Why |
|---|---|---|
| More from the stock drivetrain, full app control, regen | TC500 — this kit | 350 A battery and 500 A phase, clearly more than the stock controller delivers. For most Talaria builds this is the right choice. |
| The most the stock drivetrain can absorb | TC1000 | 700 A battery and 1000 A phase — twice the current headroom. Worth it only if your battery actually delivers that current. |
So you do not buy twice: on a Talaria the difference between TC500 and TC1000 is purely current headroom on the stock drivetrain. With a typical battery you use a TC500 in full; a TC1000 only pays off once the battery actually delivers 700 A.

Frequently asked questions
Then why would anyone fit a TC1000 to a Talaria?
For current headroom: 700 A from the battery instead of 350 A. That only pays off if your battery can actually deliver it. If it cannot, you will use all of a TC500 and not all of a TC1000.
How much power will I actually get?
The manufacturer publishes no separate figures for this kit, and the result depends on your battery and the stock motor. Send us your setup and we will answer concretely instead of guessing.
Does the kit fit the MX5?
No. Harnesses differ between Talaria versions. We stock a separate kit for the MX5.
Do I keep the stock display?
Yes, the controller works with the stock display. If you want the full TORP data readout, there is a colour display in the tile below.

Not sure your battery can use a TC1000?
