The Polovolt ST-16 is an electric mini cross with a 150 W motor, a 18 V / 5,2 Ah (94 Wh) battery and a 20 km/h top speed. The maker states a range of 45-90 min, charging takes 5-6 h, and the bike weighs 11,6 kg with the battery in.
The number that matters most here is the seat height 45,5-50 cm. The maker publishes no recommended age and no rider height, so the only honest way to choose is to measure your child's leg in riding boots and check they can stand firmly on both feet. Everything else would be guesswork, and we do not guess.
Which model for whom — by seat height, not by age
| Model | Seat | Power and speed | What it is for |
|---|---|---|---|
| ST-16 — #246, 2 500 PLN | 45.5–50 cm | 150 W · 20 km/h | learning to ride: 18 V, steel frame, 11.6 kg and an unpowered mode so the child finds balance first |
| ST-16 EXTREME — #244, 3 499 PLN | 50–57 cm | 350 W · 30 km/h | same wheel size, but 36 V, an aluminium frame and hydraulic brakes |
| M-20 EXTREME — #245, 5 500 PLN | 62–75 cm | 800 W · 45 km/h | 20″ wheels for a taller, older rider — at 45 km/h this is no longer a toy |
The ST-16 and the ST-16 EXTREME are not one bike at two prices. The base runs 18 V and 150 W, the EXTREME 36 V and 350 W, with an aluminium frame and hydraulic brakes. The second gap is charging: 5–6 h on the base, 60–90 min on the EXTREME — if your child rides all weekend, that difference bites more often than the speed does.

Before you buy
Choose by the 45,5-50 cm seat height, not by age. The maker publishes no recommended age, no rider height and no maximum rider weight — we will not invent those figures. The child has to stand firmly on both feet when stopped.
The maker states neither the suspension type nor its travel, and gives no load limit. If those figures are critical for you, message us before ordering and we will ask the manufacturer.
Speed is not a play feature. 20 km/h in the highest mode calls for a helmet and protection rated for that speed, and a place to ride away from car traffic. Lock the lowest mode while your child is learning.

The first day in short
- Start in the lowest speed mode and move up only once the child brakes confidently.
- Set the seat so that at a stop the child stands on the whole foot, not on tiptoes.
- Spend the first hours on flat, firm ground — sand and grass make balance harder.
- Charge after riding rather than just before; a battery warm from a ride charges worse than a cooled one.
Frequently asked questions
What age is this model for?
The maker states no recommended age, so we will not make one up. Go by seat height: 45,5-50 cm. At a stop the child should stand firmly on both feet — if they only reach on tiptoes, it is too early for this model.
Can the speed be limited?
Yes. This model has Eco 12 / Boost 20 km/h, so you set the lowest mode while your child is learning and raise it once braking is under control.
How does the ST-16 differ from the ST-16 EXTREME?
In voltage and component class: the base ST-16 is 18 V and 150 W on a steel frame, the EXTREME is 36 V and 350 W on an aluminium frame, with hydraulic brakes and 60–90 min charging instead of 5–6 h. The wheel size is the same.
Do I get an invoice and a warranty?
