Fastace BDA53RC rear shock, 550 lbs
Sur-Ron Light Bee X / L1e · Talaria Sting · Segway X260
The stock Sur-Ron shock has no adjustment beyond spring preload — it blows through on jumps and sags to the bump stop under a heavier rider. The BDA53RC is a piggyback unit with rebound and compression adjusters and a 550 lbs spring.
This version is built for a heavy rider and off-road use. It does not fit the Sur-Ron Ultra Bee — that bike uses a different length and different mounts.
Which shock for an LBX?
| Model | Price and position | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Fastace BDA53RC (this one) | entry into adjustable suspension | rider 100–130 kg, off-road riding, tight budget |
| RFLOXA RAB53RV | mid range | lighter rider, mixed riding, wider adjustment range |
| RFLOXA Hawk31 MAX | top shelf | racing and jumps, a rider who knows why he wants a 31 mm shaft |
Under 100 kg in full gear? The 550 lbs spring will feel harsh. Take the RAB53RV instead — it will work rather than bounce.

Choosing the spring
| Spring | Rider in full gear |
|---|---|
| 550 lbs | 100–130 kg — this version |
| 450 lbs | 70–100 kg — different rate, not stocked by us |
Ranges are the maker's. If you sit on the border, go softer — adding compression damping is easier than softening a stiff spring.

Before you order
- Measure the eye to eye length of your current shock — it should be 265 mm. Older Light Bee units can be 240 mm.
- Check the bushing diameter in the swingarm and linkage — you keep your original ones.
- This shock does not fit the Ultra Bee, Storm Bee or E-Ride Pro.
Setup in short
- Start in the middle: 9 clicks of rebound, 8 of compression.
- Rear kicks after landing — add two clicks of rebound.
- Bottoming out on big hits — add compression, not spring preload.
- Set preload so the rear settles about one third of the stroke under your weight.
Frequently asked
Does it fit the Sur-Ron Ultra Bee?
No. The Ultra Bee has different rear suspension geometry and a different shock, so the BDA53RC does not fit it.
Do I need new bushings and bolts?
No, you mount it on the original bushings and bolts from your own bike.
Can the spring be swapped for another rate?
Yes, the spring is replaceable, but we do not currently stock the 450 lbs version for this model.
What warranty comes with it?
The manufacturer warranty plus two years of EU statutory cover, exactly as with everything else you buy from us.
Worth adding
Ships from Europe, maker warranty and 2 years EU statutory cover
