The stock Sur-Ron front end twists under hard braking and loses the line in ruts. The ALX13RC 2.0 runs 37 mm stanchions — the thickest of any inverted fork for the Sur-Ron and 200 mm of travel with open bath damping, like a real motorcycle fork. Plus separate compression and rebound adjusters. Straight talk: this is a lot of fork for the money, but the factory seals are its weak point — read below for what to do about it.

What about those seals?
The manufacturer saved money on the seals — after a few hundred kilometres they can start to weep. The fix is simple: a zero-hour service with new seals and oil before the first ride. It is a standard job for any suspension workshop and it clears the issue for hundreds of kilometres more.
Why do 37 mm stanchions matter?
Because tube stiffness rises far faster than its diameter. Thicker stanchions mean less twist under braking and load, so the front holds the line you chose instead of wandering.
Open bath versus cartridge — what is the difference?
Open bath comes from motorcycle forks — more oil, simpler servicing and more consistent damping over a long section. Bicycle cartridges are lighter but give up sooner.
How much does this fork weigh?
About 5.35 kg. That is more than a light bicycle fork and we say so openly — the mass comes from thicker tubes and steel internals that give it strength.
