Talaria Sting MX3, MX4 & MX5 Upgrades: What to Buy First in 2026

Talaria Sting MX3, MX4 & MX5 Upgrades: What to Buy First in 2026Talaria MX5 Sting R PRO in the 96 Power Parts 18/21 Edition

A Talaria Sting is quick straight out of the crate. The catch is that the factory spec is balanced around a price point, not around real riding — and after a few hard sessions you feel it in your hands, in the suspension and in the wheels. Below are the four areas that genuinely change the bike, plus the order to buy them in so you don't pay twice for the same fix.

Where a stock Talaria actually loses out

  • The front end — the stock bar mount flexes and deforms on harder landings, and your alignment drifts.
  • The fork — no meaningful adjustment, it blows through on big hits and wears your wrists out fast.
  • Wheels and tyres — they decide whether the bike is an enduro or a supermoto. Power without grip is just noise.
  • Small parts — axle nut, spacers, footpegs, kickstand. Cheap, and responsible for most of the annoying roadside stops.

1. Fix the front end first

This is the cheapest upgrade with the biggest immediate payoff. The Heavy Duty 96 Direct Stem Mount is our own CNC part — stiff, zero play, with a geometry that actually works standing up. The bar stops rotating in the clamps and the bike stays predictable when you're pushing.

Add a 28.6 mm taper handlebar and proper MX grips and the ergonomics go from budget import to motorcycle, for well under the cost of a controller.

2. Suspension is the single biggest jump

The FASTACE ALX13RC 2.0 fork with a 50 lbs spring gives you rebound and compression adjustment plus real usable travel. If you're over 80 kg, or you ride roots and ruts at speed, this is the point where the bike stops bucking you and starts holding a line.

In practice a fork does more for your lap time than the next few kilowatts. Add power only once the chassis can keep up with it.

3. Wheels decide the character of the bike

Stock Talaria rims are a compromise. The custom OFF-ROAD 16″/19″ wheelset is built for real terrain and for smaller or mid-height riders — more traction, easier control, and a wide choice of MX rubber. If you mostly ride tarmac, take a 17″ supermoto set instead.

  • 16″/19″ — traction, control, technical riding
  • 18″/21″ — classic enduro, the widest tyre choice on the market
  • 17″ supermoto — tarmac, braking, city riding

We build wheels to order, so you choose hub colour, rim and spokes to match your build.

4. The small parts that end the failures

  • Reinforced rear axle nut and front wheel spacers — no more play after a few sessions.
  • Wider CNC footpegs and a reinforced mount — more control on the pegs.
  • Adjustable CNC kickstand — the stock one doesn't love a bike on heavier wheels.
  • Stem lock — a simple part that saves your front end in a crash.

The order we recommend

  1. Stem mount, handlebar and grips — ergonomics and safety.
  2. Small reinforcements (axle, spacers, pegs) — reliability for very little money.
  3. Fork — the biggest jump in handling.
  4. Wheels matched to how you actually ride.
  5. Power, last.

Doing it backwards is the most common mistake: a stronger controller in a stock chassis gives you a bike that is fast and unpleasant.
