The kit that lets you fit the Sur-Ron Ultra Bee rear brake system to a Light Bee X or Light Bee L1e. It contains a CNC adapter in aerospace 7075 aluminium, a CNC 7075 disc guard and a 240 mm disc, 3.3 mm thick, to Ultra Bee spec.
Stated up front, because this is where most orders go wrong: this is the mechanical half of the conversion — mounting and disc. The hydraulics — master cylinder, caliper with pads and line — are in the complete Ultra Bee rear brake assembly. Unless you already have a stripped Ultra Bee system on the bench, you need both items.
What to order
| What you have | What you order | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Light Bee X / L1e, you want a stronger rear brake | This kit + complete Ultra Bee rear brake | The kit gives you the mounting and the 240 mm disc. Master cylinder, caliper and line come with the brake assembly. |
| You already removed a rear system from an Ultra Bee | This kit alone | What you are missing is exactly the adapter, guard and disc for Light Bee geometry. |
| You only want a thicker disc for the stock brake | A separate 220 mm disc | The 240 mm disc here needs this adapter and an Ultra Bee caliper. It will not work with the stock caliper. |
The most common mistake: ordering the conversion kit alone expecting a working brake. This is not a brake — it is mounting, guard and disc. The hydraulics are linked in the tile below.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a complete brake?
No. It is adapter, guard and disc — the mechanical part of the conversion. Master cylinder, caliper and line are in the complete Ultra Bee rear brake.
What does a full rear conversion cost?
This kit plus the complete Ultra Bee rear brake. Both are in the shop; the brake is in the tile below.
Will the 240 mm disc work with the stock Light Bee caliper?
No. The larger disc needs this adapter and an Ultra Bee caliper.
What is the difference between black and gold?
Only the colour of the CNC parts. Construction, material and dimensions are identical.
Does it fit a Talaria or an Ultra Bee?
No. The kit is for Light Bee X and L1e. Ask before ordering for anything else.
Without this the conversion does not work
Not sure whether you also need the brake assembly?
