Inverted 37 mm fork with a 162 mm triple clamp, 17 mm drop crown and widened front axle
203 mm travel · 60 lbs spring · wide supermoto and 21" fronts · Sur-Ron LBX/L1E · Talaria MX3/MX4 · E-Ride Pro · 79Bike Falcon
Four-way adjustable inverted fork for front wheels a stock clamp cannot take. What you buy over the PRO is clearance and geometry, not damping — a 162 mm triple clamp, a 17 mm drop crown, a widened front axle and the rotor offset spacer that keeps the disc in line.
It is not a stiffer or better-damped fork than the PRO, and it is not fully plug-and-play on every bike. Fitting notes are below — read them before you order.
MAX or PRO?
The damper is identical on both. Same tubes, same valving, same adjusters, same springs, same seals. This one has a wider triple clamp (162 mm vs 146 mm), a 17 mm drop crown and a widened front axle — geometry and tyre clearance, not damping.
| Hawk31 MAX (this one) | Hawk31 PRO | |
|---|---|---|
| Damper, valving, adjusters | HSC · LSC · rebound · preload | Identical — no stated difference |
| Travel | 203 mm | 203 mm — same |
| Triple clamp width | 162 mm clamp centres | 146 mm — stock width |
| Crown | 17 mm drop crown | Flat |
| Front tyre width (17" supermoto) | 90-wide, in most cases 100 | Stock-width rubber only |
| 21" off-road front | Yes | No |
Take the PRO if your front end stays stock height on a stock wheel. The fork works exactly the same and you keep the difference for the right spring.
Not sure yet? RFLOXA also sells this clamp on its own and it bolts onto the PRO, so the decision is not final either way.

Which spring?
RFLOXA’s own page contradicts itself on rider weights, so here is one table we stand behind.
| Spring | Trail / enduro | Jumps / MX |
|---|---|---|
| 45 lbs | up to ~100 kg | up to ~85 kg |
| 45–60 lbs progressive | ~80–115 kg | ~80–110 kg |
| 60 lbs (this one) | ~100–130 kg | ~85–130 kg |
Rider weight without gear. Close to a boundary — or not sure? Message us with your weight, bike and riding style. A wrong spring is the number one reason suspension comes back.
Fits
• Talaria — spacer needed under the lower bearing.
• Talaria Sting R (MX4) — some frames need minor grinding on the outer tubes. Dry-fit and check clearance at full lock.
• E-Ride Pro SS 3.0 / SR — the larger caliper on these is not currently plug-and-play and the adapter is not released. Message us first.
• Wheel and tyre — the wider clamp buys clearance, not a guarantee. Tell us the wheel and tyre you plan to run and we will check it against your bike before you order.
Setting it up — the short version
2. Target rider sag of 25–30% of travel — on this fork that is roughly 51–61 mm with you on the bike in full gear.
3. Clickers are counted out from fully closed; in = firmer, out = softer. RFLOXA publishes no factory baseline, so write down the as-delivered click counts before you touch anything.
4. Change one adjuster at a time, two clicks at a time, on the same piece of trail.
FAQ
No. Same tubes, same valving, same springs. You are paying for clamp width, drop crown and axle — clearance and geometry. If you want the fork to work better, spend on the right spring, not on the clamp.
The lower one comes loose in the box, not pressed. The upper one is not supplied. Budget for a press and a puller, or a bearing kit.
The clamp and the drop crown are built for it. We do not currently stock a 21" front wheel for LBX or Talaria — tell us what you plan to run and we will confirm the fit before you order.
RFLOXA does not publish a weight and we will not guess. The figures circulating online are shipping-carton weights.
