96 reinforced rear suspension linkage

The stock part is the weakest point here. This one is machined from 7075 and comes with bearings.

The rear suspension linkage and rocker carry the entire landing force from the wheel into the frame. Sur-Ron makes them from cheap aluminium — and they are what gives way first once you start jumping. It is not the shock or the swingarm that breaks, it is this one inexpensive part that leaves you stranded mid-trail.

Ours is CNC-machined from 7075 aluminium, the same series used for load-bearing aerospace parts. Bearings are included, so you do not have to source them separately. Lighter and stronger than stock, a 1:1 fit on the factory mounting points.

Which version to choose

VersionWhat it doesWho it suits
Standard linkage1:1 replacement, no geometry changeYou want strength and nothing else
Linkage with 20 mm correctionRaises the rear by about 20 mm, adds travel21/18 or 19/16 wheels, more clearance
Linkage with 35 mm correctionRaises the rear by about 35 mmMaximum clearance and travel, big wheels
Suspension rockerStrengthens the second part of the same assemblyCompletes the job after the linkage or spring upgrade
Raising the rear is not a free win. A higher rear steepens the head angle: the bike turns quicker but settles down less at speed. Seat height goes up too. If you are not fitting bigger wheels, the standard version is the more sensible choice than buying correction just in case.

What you get

7075 aluminium, CNC-machined
The same series used for load-bearing aerospace parts. Lighter and stronger than stock.
Bearings included
Nothing to source separately. You replace the whole joint instead of pressing old bearings into a new housing.
1:1 fitment
Factory mounting points, no drilling and no frame modification.
Black anodised
A finish that stands up to corrosion and to whatever the rear wheel throws at it.
Before you fit it
You get the the linkage with its bearings. Shock, spring and the remaining suspension parts are separate items.

This part fits: Sur-Ron Light Bee / Segway X260. Mounting points differ between models — do not buy the version for another bike.

After fitting a correction version, check the chain tension and how the side stand behaves — changing rear height affects both.

This part works as a pair: the linkage and the rocker form the same assembly. If you strengthen one and add a stiffer spring, the other becomes the next weakest link.

Check before you buy
  • Model. This version fits Sur-Ron Light Bee / Segway X260. Other models have their own versions — the mounting points differ.
  • Which wheels you run. The 20 and 35 mm corrections make sense with 21/18 or 19/16 sets. On stock wheels the standard version is enough.
  • Your height. Raising the rear also raises the seat. If you are short, 35 mm of correction can get in the way at a standstill.
  • After fitting. Check the chain tension and the side stand.

Frequently asked

Why does the stock part fail?
Because it carries the entire landing force and is made from cheap aluminium. It is the first rear suspension part to give way under regular jumping.
Are bearings included?
Yes. You replace the whole joint rather than moving old bearings into a new housing.
Standard or with correction?
If you are staying on stock wheels — standard. The 20 or 35 mm correction makes sense with 21/18 and 19/16 sets, where you need the clearance and the travel.
What changes when the rear goes up?
Clearance and travel increase, but the head angle steepens: the bike turns quicker and settles less at speed. The seat also sits higher.
Do I need the rocker as well?
Not immediately. But once you have strengthened the linkage and fitted a stiffer spring, the rocker becomes the next weakest link in that assembly.
Does it fit a model other than the one listed?
No. Mounting points differ between the Light Bee, Ultra Bee and Talaria. Sur-Ron Light Bee / Segway X260 — those only.
