600lbs spring for DNM RCP2S 265mm shock. Sur-Ron Light Bee/Segway X260

replaces the standard 450 lbs · fits the original shock · Sur-Ron Light Bee / Segway X260

The standard spring on the Sur-Ron Light Bee / Segway X260 is 450 lbs, chosen for a light rider taking it easy. If you weigh more than 80 kg the rear sags at a standstill, eats travel under braking and bottoms out on the first proper drop. This spring is 600 lbs — you change the spring only, the shock stays original.

It is the cheapest sensible suspension change on this bike. It costs a fraction of a new shock and you feel the difference the first time you drop off a kerb. Honestly: a spring changes stiffness, not damping. If the rear pogos and returns too fast after the change, that is the shock's job, not a stiffer spring's.

What changes after the swap

Less sag at a standstill
Static sag drops. The bike sits higher and the geometry returns to what it was designed around.
No more bottoming out
On drops and landings you stop hitting the end of the travel — the dull thud you feel in your spine.
Steadier rear under braking
Less weight transfer forward, so the front wheel keeps more grip.
Fits without a new shock
The spring goes onto the original DNM RCP2S 265 mm. You are not buying a shock.
Before you buy — three things stated plainly
A spring will not fix damping. A stiffer spring returns faster, and the standard DNM shock has limited rebound damping — at 600 lbs it is already working close to its limit. Above 600 lbs we do not go on the standard shock at all: the damping cannot handle it and the rear starts bouncing like a ball. If the problem persists after the spring change, the next step is the whole shock, not another rate. Second: the manufacturer does not publish the spring dimensions — no inner diameter, free length or wire diameter. It states the rate and the fit to the DNM RCP2S 265 mm. If you run a different shock, message us before ordering.

Three things when swapping
  • You need a spring compressor to get the spring off. Without one this is dangerous — a spring under load can let go.
  • Reset the static sag once the new spring is on. Swapping without setting preload is half the job.
  • Do your first ride on a route you know and compare the same section as before. Suspension is judged by comparison, not by impression.

Frequently asked questions

I weigh 85 kg — 550 or 600?
550 lbs if you ride normally. 600 lbs only if you jump a lot or want a distinctly hard rear. At 85 kg with relaxed riding, 600 lbs will be too stiff and you will lose grip over rocks.
Will it fit my shock?
This spring is for the DNM RCP2S 265 mm. With any other shock, message us with the model — we do not guess fitment.
Is a spring enough instead of a new shock?
If the issue is rider weight — usually yes, and it is the cheapest fix. If the issue is bouncing and lack of control after landings, that is damping, and a spring will not fix it.
